Summer is upon us which means Monday evening
club runs start at 18h15 from Norwich Oval. Due to the large display
of interest, we are split into various groups. The times and distances
are decided each week and a willing leader escorts the group through
our scenic routes in the area. These include runs through Newlands
forest, the Constantia Green Belt, Kirstenbosch and its contour
path, or a mere meander along the Rondebosch river banks.
This seems to be going really well and is getting
lots of people to the club, but remember it's not too late to join
in!
For new/slower runners we've started a training
program to build up to running the half marathon at Two Oceans this
year (or just if you want the motivation of a regular commitment
to start running). It will be a three month program that incorporates
Monday evening runs, Tuesday morning, Thursday time trial and a
longer run or race over the weekend. It'll start off with running
and walking and gradually pick up from there so all non-runners
are most welcome.
